At last is the fifth book in the Lucky Harbor series By Shalvis. It was slow getting started and at one point of the book I was saying yada yada same old tale I have heard before just differenct character names. A friend urged me to read a bit more and I am glad that she did. It was not predictable. At least it didn't go the route I expected at all. The deceased grandma plays a big part in the book and when you begin to see the several layers to the story it becomes very enjoyable to read. Complicated characters that are well suited.
Amy and Matt the Ranger. Grumpy Amy has her reasons to not trust or involver her self. Her Chocolate loving friends give her reason to like others and herself once again. They start the walls crumbling. Girlfriends playing an important role is an under used author's tool that Shalvis wields well.
Matt too had his unpleasant memories forced to the fore in this story and when faced in a supportive environment can be finally handled in a better fashion.
Not as good as the sister's books in my opinion, but hot, well written and when given a fair chance a very good read.
