Adam is the last brother working at the animal clinic in Shalvis's Animal Magnetism series. The extremely handsome, silent dude with a damaged past both as a child and as a military man. He is now in search and rescue work with his trained dogs for help.
Holly is the high school sweetheart dumped to go off and fight for home and country. She didn't take it well and married as soon as possible while away at college. I never could "get her". A spoiled yet dominated female, well educated and business minded yet scatterbrained. Holly just didn't do it for me. She was the reason for the lower star rating. The book was good. Adam is a perfect alpha hero but a bit moody. There are several rescues and several comical lines but just another hometown contempory romance. None the less I am looking forward to the next book in the series about Griff and Kate.
