Gypsy's Hot Romance☼

Romance novels, all sub genre's from Erotica to Classics.  Give me a HEA or even HFN and it is all good.

I tend to read only new release books.  Sometimes I get a bit behind and the book is now a month or two old but hey, so many books, so little time.

If you are from GR, you may know me better as Sunny.  A happy Canadian.

Valiant-New Species #3 by by Laurann Dohner

Valiant - Laurann Dohner

Valiant is more lion than human.  That one feature of this character, makes him lovable in his a unique way.  His first instinct is to do ...whatever...the animal way.  His human side wants to learn more about the human way but often points out the time wasting of human protocol.  He is huge, beautiful and he roars, to the terror of everyone but "his" Tammy.

She has not seen New Species before.  She is curious and knows only what the news has told her.  Her eyes are opened quickly and Valiant is needed to come to the rescue.

Will he get over his hatred of humans?  Will she, being so small, be able to accommodate Valiant in all of his wants and needs?  Love this couple.  Her open mindedness and his steadfast desire warm your heart to a fresh outlook.

This book was a winner with me.  Definitely recommend it.

Mystery Man- Book #1 Dream Man Series- by Kristen Ashley

Mystery Man - Kristen Ashley

Hawk, or Cade Delgado is top of the line, controlling, sweet, Badass Commando Alpha man who is conquered by ditsy, blonde, big hearted Cosmo girl   Gwendolyn Kidd.

You name it...it happens in this story.  Fire, kidnapping, drive by shooting, motorcycle rides, theft, sexy shoes, broken hearts, oh yes...very hot passion.

I loved the controversial opening to the story.  Jeese, who wouldn't like a hot guy crawling into bed with you over a year and a half no strings attached, to get on with your life the next day.  Come on, be honest here.

The beginning and the ending to this story are excellent and the middle of the story is so fast paced you will need to stop and catch your breath.  Loved Ashley's characters as usual.  Secondary characters just as appealing and you want to get to know each of them on a much closer basis...Tack...Oh yah,   Mitch,,Yep.  Best friends..Of course.

An excellent book for the spring off to a new series.  Recommended.

Love Thy Neighbour-#2 Friend-Zoned Series by Belle Aurora

Love Thy Neighbour - Belle Aurora

This book takes up through the growing relationship of Asher 'Ghost' Collins and Natalie Kovac.  She is a prankster and an actress.  She does't like the world to know her true feelings.  Ghost hides his past and prefers to watch and listen to being an active part, while Nat is front and centre most of the time.

What is love?  That is the question each has to answer in their own way.  The story moves along at the perfect clip.  Slows for you to enjoy the building passion then picks up so quickly your emotions do a turn around.  Interest never wanes.

Asher quickly wins your heart.  He has the farthest road to walk in finding love.  Watching his quantity of smiles increase and his love for Nat build is a joy.  A realistic story, with a twist that isn't often seen in books.  She can not have children.  This information was mentioned in passing in the previous book Friend Zoned so I do not consider it a spoiler.  But it is important.

I enjoyed and would recommend the book.  I am staying with this series.  I love the characters.

When You're Ready, #1 Ready Series by J.L. Berg

When You're Ready (The Ready Series #1) - J.L. Berg

All of the emotions are here.  Cancer is involved in the story.  Yes even a child is present. Sorry no animals but all other boxes are ticked.  It works.

A heart warming story of a young widow and her trip back into the dating circle.  The questions, emotions feelings she has, through careful tender description, are ones I know I would be experiencing in the same circumstances.   Red headed Clare Murray and her mostly absent daughter are a tight unit.

Dr. Logan Matthews has a new arm candy often, at least recently.  He is a divorcee.  Love at first sight however, at least for one of them, in the emergency ward of the hospital blossoms.

As the relationship builds the passion is hot, the chemistry right on.  There is however one huge hurdle to cross that does not come up until the end of the book.  It impact is memorable and the story goes out with a bang.  I am looking forward to the next book in the series that promises to be the opposite of this book in every way but just as hot.

The Untamed Mackenzie ,#5.5 Highland Pleasures series by Jennifer Ashley

The Untamed Mackenzie - Jennifer Ashley

Refreshing to read.  He is not a peer.  She is a ton reject. He will inherit nothing..after all, he came from the wrong side of the blanket.

Lloyd Fellows is the by blow of Lord Mackenzie and half brother to all of the other Mackenzie.  When his is working for Scotland Yard, he gets it right every time.

Lady Louisa Scranton, the untouchable love of his life, is a murder suspect.  In fact for the ton she is THE murder suspect.  Can Fellows help her when she needs him most?

The murder mystery is not predictable and a fun part of the story.  The passion, well let's put it this way.  If I flicked my bic several times I would have trouble coming up with one flame.  The story however makes me forget that part.  The love is consuming and he is an alpha.  The story also introduces the next Mackenzie to feature in a book, Daniel.  Love that guy and can't wait to read his book coming out in a few weeks.

Want a mystery with a touch of aggressive passionate woman and stand offish man? Read this.

Play It Safe by Kristen Ashley, book one of Colorado Plains series

Play It Safe - Kristen Ashley

Yes, I was surprised it was the first book in a new series also.  I discovered this after reading the whole book and glancing through the other series Ashley has out there.  There it was, right under Colorado Mountains, Colorado Plains with this listed as the first book.

I loved it.  It made sense.  Gray is a winner and Ivey pretty darn fine also.  Why the half star?  I had a bit of initial trouble getting used to biker talk coming out of a cowboy's mouth....Gettin' me Babe?

Gray is the local very hot, in demand stud with principles.  Ivey, well Ivey has no past or future that she wants to think about just this place and right now.  She knows her way around a pool cue and knows how to work it.  Later in the story we find she has many assets of note.

Ivey's sweetness and naivety bring her into your heart. Gray's tough side is just what she needs and his positive outlook on life opens her world.  The Hawt scenes are hot.  The characters are first rate.  The book is well thought out but a bit predictable now and then. Yet another Ashley series I will be following.

Hope Springs: Compass Girls Series, Book 2

Hope Springs - Jayne Rylon, Mari Carr This is pretty much an m/m book. I have no idea why Hope the female was even in the story. A lot of reference to the father's series Compass Brothers.

Friend-Zoned

Friend-Zoned - Belle Aurora This book by Belle Aurora is a breath of fresh air. It differs from other books in the same sub-genre in so many ways.

Valentina Tomic the heroine has an upsetting history and negative experiences with the male lover in her past. She is however the role model for women who pull up their big girl panties and get on with life. She owns her own clothing store and has befriended the two sales girls that she works with. She loves life and loves the people around her. This up-beat character trait lifts the reader through out the story. You must love this lady. When her girlhood friend arrives to live with her the laughter doubles.

Nikolai Leokov, a night club owner which is located right across the street from Tina's store. He had some serious and momentous decisions to make when his father died. He chose to walk the path of honour as much as possible.

It isn't long before Tina has befriended not only Nik, but his brothers and cousin as well. The four girls from the shop and the four guys from the nightclub are soon a tight unit. Then Nik's past comes back to haunt him at the expense of Tina.

As the friendship builds so does the love. The author skillfully pens the changing thoughts and emotions of each of the Main characters. The unwavering loyalty of family and friends is also conveyed in a meaningful way.

You fell in love with the characters as they fell in love with each other. Chuckles and head shaking abound as you read. You can't believe the words or ideas as they spill from the fun loving mind of Tina. this was a page turner that became a friend. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Dear Rockstar

Dear Rockstar - Emme Rollins "No", I said. I have too many life experiences to go back and enjoy a NA book. My friends pushed knowing I enjoyed the two Rock star series by Olivia Cunning. It will surprise you they said. I gave in and I am very happy that I did. This series in now among the series that I follow and I have learned never to say never.

The characters are attending an adult academy to get their high school degrees. Each of them has a story to tell that explains why they didn't graduate with their friends. Our hero Dale and our heroine Sara are no exception.

Much of the book is about secrets that the characters are too embarrassed or too hurt to repeat. As all of the secrets unfold in sometimes violent ways the main characters are held closer and closer to your heart. It is all way too believable. The story takes place in the eighty's but you soon forget that detail as the book sweeps you away.

The sex is hot. The characters mature before your eyes. The story is spell binding. It is a must read if you enjoy this sub genre of romance. This author, who was new to me, will be a fast rising star. She has what it takes in spades.

Rock Chick Revolution

Rock Chick Revolution - Kristen Ashley Ally and Ren's story.
Turn and Burn - Lorelei James Tanna is one feisty determined lady. she has been physically injured in a barrel racing accident. It is, however, her mental injuries that are holding her up.

Fletch is a vet for large animals and is married to his job. He is however the only one able to tame the wild Tanna.

If you enjoy hot passion, this book has it. In almost every single chapter. So much of it, to me, the story suffered a bit.

The angst is low, the conflict minimal and the this book is a good hot read for a lazy summer day.
Wicked Beat - Olivia Cunning The Eric we have come to love and to feel protective over finds the one person who fits him better than any other on earth, but she loves and idolizes Trey. The new front of the house soundboard person is filling in for her disabled Brother Dave.

Rebekah, or Reb is a tom boy, car mechanic, sound board operator and everything Eric wants. From the moment he first sees her Eric has trouble walking, talking and operating at all. He knows as soon as he sees her hair colour that she is the one for him.

Rebekah is as honest and as spontaneous as Eric is, but she has a secret that is very hard to tell Eric, even though she must.

An touching, hot, sensitive and funny story. The story is as unique as the band players then selves. Roll play is exactly up Eric's alley and feeds his active imagination and Reb is the queen of roll.

Loved this book and so sorry to see then endearing extremely hot and funny series end. These guys seem like a part of the family. Looking forward to the next books to fall from Cunnings lively imagination.
Burn (The Breathless Trilogy #3) - Maya Banks Ash, Blonde green eyed millionaire who had been a number one playboy falls immediately for an artist in the park wearing someone else's collar.

It goes up hill from there and that is a pretty hot opening. Josie is the perfect match. Her head is screwed on right. He decision making based on facts as she knows them.

A well written book that holds you in it's grip from beginning to end. The climax a surprise out of the blue. Your don't see it coming at all. The ending sweet, conclusive and also with a surprise or two.

You will love Ash. No doubt. The sex is hot and not for the beginning erotica reader. The story and the writing top notch. A book I could easily recommend.

Royal Trouble (Texas Trouble, #10)

Royal Trouble - Becky McGraw Oil and Water. That would describe Leigh Ann Baker and Dr. Wes Jepson. Well that would describe them in the first half of the book. But these two turned into Gas and Flame by the end of the book.

She is filled with self doubts of her worth outside of the world of pageantry where she won the title of Miss Texas. In the real world there was very little she could do, including making her sister or her mother happy.

Wes is filled with distrust and fear of commitment, again. What these two do together to finally face the truth of their love and the truth of who they were, was at times funny, heartbreaking, frustrating and endearing. Wes's son adds just the quiet touch that is needed. Another page turner by Becky McGraw. Loved it.
Heart of Obsidian (Psy-Changeling, #12) - Nalini Singh
Black and Gold. This theme weaves often throughout the book.

Kaleb Krychek is a double cardinal in the Psy population with so much power no one can possible bring him down. He is greatly feared by almost everyone. Well, except for his long lost Sahara Kyriakus, a member of the Nightstar clan and cousin to Faith. Her abilities have been well hidden her whole life. Only Kaleb, her kidnapper and her torturer know besides her father.

The story begins with Kaleb finally rescuing her and bringing her back to an isolated home where he nurses her back to health. He holds a secret in his head that could destroy any possibility of love between them.

To protect her mind he builds a shield of obsidian. He can only love her if he, himself is under a shield of obsidian. When you walk the net with him, he is the obsidian strand. She is the golden one.

Sahara has somehow managed to keep her conscience, her deep love for Kaleb and her desire to live all through 7 years of hellish captivity. But that is nothing compared to the horrendous upbringing of Kaleb, who never once stopped loving and needing Sahara. He is still a virgin.

This book touched every emotion. Anger, Frustration, Awe, Love but especially Humour just when you needed it the most. A book that makes me laugh out loud or cry a tear is at the top of my ratings. Could you not laugh at the results of these two making love? A hot kiss could throw a sofa against the wall, a blowjob causes a medium scale earthquake. To see these two steadfastly support each other no matter the cost to them self is so heartwarming. That feeling just grows and grows throughout this book. The ending is so beautiful you will want to read it several times.

Heart of Obsidian, is a rare jewel even among the other jewels in Singh’s collection. Loved it.
Who Wants to Marry a Cowboy? - Abigail Sharpe Ainsley Fairfax owns her own florist shop but rich and controlling mommy dearest is threating to take it away if Ainsley doesn't agree to marry the man of mother's choice, Edward.

Riley Pommer has lived on his own for years but must now come home to help his siblings run their sheep farm because of the recent death of their father.

After a string of situations involving family manipulation on both Riley's and Ainsley's part the two find themselves falling in love, at his farm, in spite of evil forces from other women in Riley's life.

The fast moving pace and duel storylines kept the pages turning quickly as you watched the hero and the heroine find their own feet and backbone. The twists, turns and doubts that fester in a human mind come to the fore in many of the characters in the story. All insecurities are logical and all understood as realistic. You felt like throttling Jewel, shaking Riley, hugging Seth and high fiving Ainsley. The characters refuse to let you be neutral about them. A very warm touching story with two very realistic and down to earth leading characters. A beautifully written and warmly entertaining novel.
